Karen Rubino
Karen Rubino became interested in Reiki through her experience as a patient's spouse at the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital in 2000. By 2007, she attained the Master's level in both Usui Reiki Ryoho and Karuna Reiki, both ultimately through the International Center for Reiki Training, under William Lee Rand, the founder of the ICRT, and his lead educational staff. She also was certified in Reiki drumming in 2007, under the instruction of Michael Baird, the originator of Reiki drumming, and also of the ICRT. Most recently, she became a Reiki Holy Fire Master practitioner and teacher (2019), again under the instruction of William Lee Rand.
In 2008, Karen completed her certification for Small Animal Massage through Bancroft School of Massage Therapy/Doggone U. Working with animals was, and always will be, a passionate calling.
Under the incredible instruction of Elysia Bates of Blessed Soles, Karen became a certified Reflexologist. This was another long-standing interest that she was able to pursue after retiring from a 37-year career as a special education teacher.
By 2013, Karen had begun working for Noreen Wallace of Therapeutic Enterprises and remained happily employed there until the Covid-19 pandemic hit. During those years (2013-2020), she also became a Level 1 Rock Tape FMT practitioner, took classes in myofascial release through the Institute of Manual Therapy, and studied a variety of other types of therapeutic skills, such as Infinity Walk, EFT, and some offerings through the Edgar Cayce Foundation (Association for Research and Development). Currently, Karen works as an independent contractor at The Wholistic Collective, at Soothing Elements, and itinerantly.
She is open to two-legged clients, as well as those with four legs!
